Topanga was played by Danielle Fishel in all seven seasons of ABC's coming-of-age sitcom which aired from 1993 to 2000. The nonconformist character served as Cory's on-and-off romantic interest from middle school to their eventual marriage at college.

Telling the story for the first time, Morgan says she was fired after one day. Word got back to her agent that the director didn't think she was pretty enough.

What came out, fortunately, I had been with my agent for a very long time. The director said I couldn't take direction, which is one thing I had never been accused of. I was working a lot and my agent immediately fought back on that one.
