A Top 20 upset on Day 1 perhaps set the tone for another exciting and unpredictable lacrosse season
We were only a few hours into a newly christened lacrosse season when unranked Ocean City made the 133-mile trek to Basking Ridge and formulated the spring’s first major upset with clutch late scoring and some spectacular defense and goalie play in the second-half against then-No. 16 Ridge to produce a 10-8 victory.
At the tail end of that opening week, then-No. 9 Wall welcomed unranked Bergen Catholic to its field Saturday following a 71-mile trip for the Crusaders, and then probably regretted doing so.
