BoycottDWTS trends after reports former WH Press Secretary Sean Spicer will compete in 'Dancing with the Stars'
, the show drew backlash from its own host, Tom Bergeron. Now, Twitter users are calling for a complete boycott of the show.
Spicer served as press secretary and White House communications director for President Donald Trump in 2017.which debuted in 2005, pairs professional dancers with a cast of celebrities that include actors, musicians, public figures and other well-known people who usually aren't typically considered worthy of a dance floor.
ABC shared its roster Wednesday morning, and it did not take Twitter very long to respond with a boycott threat once Spicer's name was revealed.. He said that after a planning meeting with the show's new executive producer a few months ago, Bergeron expressed he wanted"a joyful respite from our exhausting political climate and free of inevitably divisive bookings from ANY party affiliations.
