The Bureau of Customs Port of Zamboanga (BOC-POZ) has intercepted a motorized wooden vessel loaded with undocumented cigarettes with an estimated value of P4.9 million.

According to a Facebook post, BOC-POZ Enforcement and Security Service and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service , and the PNP 2nd Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company intercepted the boat "Jungkong" on March 21 off the coast of Barangay Arena Blanco in Zamboanga City.

The vessel, with four crew members from Parang, Sulu, came from Jolo, Sulu, and was headed for Zamboanga City."The 141 master cases of cigarettes were apprehended in violation of Section 117 of R.A. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act of 2016 in relation to Executive Order Number 245 entitled Amended Rules and Regulations Governing the Exportation and Importation of Leaf Tobacco and Tobacco Products," BOC said.
