A Birmingham police officer fired shots at a man who was shooting at someone else Saturday night in west Birmingham. No one was injured, and three people are in custody undergoing questioning, including the initial shooter.

Police cordoned off a couple of blocks in every direction surrounding the crime scene. The was a large police presence including Internal Affairs Investigators and Assistant Chief La’Quaylin Parhm Mack.“We had an officer discharge a firearm at a community member,’’ he said, “and we want to handle it as serious as we would if there was an officer involved shooting.”
