THE Bureau of Internal Revenue announced that its July collection rose by 38.37 percent year-on-year to P273.134 billion from P197.39 billion last year due to “intensified” tax enforcement activities.
Actual July collection was 5.09 percent or P13.224-billion higher than the P259.91-billion collection target for the month, according to the BIR. The cumulative collection performance by the BIR is already 56.53 percent of its P2.639 trillion target collection for 2023.
