The investor blasted Google for its work in China.
Saheli Roy ChoudhuryBillionaire investor Peter Thiel said Sunday that the FBI and the CIA should investigate whether Google has been infiltrated by Chinese intelligence, according to a report from Axios.
“Number one, how many foreign intelligence agencies have infiltrated your Manhattan Project for AI ?” Thiel reportedly asked. “Number two, does Google’s senior management consider itself to have been thoroughly infiltrated by Chinese intelligence?”Thiel also blasted Alphabet-owned Google for its work in China.
It was said to be an attempt to get back into the country’s web search market following years of absence. Hundreds of employees protested against the project, known as Dragonfly. A report last December said Google had ended its work on the search project.
