INDIANAPOLIS — It's a health crisis lawmakers say is costing the state billions. There's a push to put mental health funding to better use.
"My brother, about a year and a half ago in July of 2021 was having a mental health crisis. He was threatening to commit suicide," said Moser."An officer arrived. There was no one in the house, it was just my brother, and within about 10 minutes, my brother was dead," said Moser. The bill would establish a statewide crisis response system to support Hoosiers going through a mental health or substance use situation.
