President Joe Biden said once again that he is willing to meet with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy but not if that meeting is about whether or not the debt ceiling is extended.
McCarthy told reporters that he expected the vote to come Wednesday but did not say whether he had 218 votes to get it over the line. With his razor-thin majority, McCarthy can afford to lose four GOP votes at most to pass what's shaping up to be his largest test as speaker yet.to assuage concerns from key Republican factions that appeared ready to oppose it.
