Local Harrisburg Bhutanese community members held a protest on the front steps of the PA Capitol Complex calling for the release of political prisoners in Bhutan.

Four dozen members of the local Harrisburg area Bhutanese community held a rally on the steps of Pennsylvania Saturday, demanding the release of political prisoners in Bhutan.

The Global Campaign for the Release of Political Prisoners in Bhutan held its first rally demanding amnesty for Bhutanese political prisoners. There are an estimated 35,000-40,000 Bhutanese in the greater Harrisburg area, with most having fled their homeland in 1992 under brutal persecution by their own government.
