Thirty years after the original series, the older, but maybe not wiser, cast of 'Beverly Hills 90210' are back with a new show that riffs on the original.

Save for Jennie, who on the show is going through a divorce, and Gabrielle, whose long-term husband is ‘comfortable’ looking, all of the other players have hot spouses - Tori’s husband is played by Ivan Sergei who seems not to have aged much since he was new to TV, starring in the short-lived seriesn the late ‘90s.* Jason is married to Camille, played by Vanessa Lachey, while LaLa Anthony plays Brian’s wife and Steve’s fitness model wife is portrayed by Jenna Rosenow.
One of the most interesting elements of the series is that Spelling, at least in the first few installments , is at the center of the action, as sort of the lead of the series, with the others orbiting around her a bit. And, while in the original series, Spelling seemed to be a one note actress, here it appears that she’s matured in her thespian abilities, showing more range in both her comedic, and, well, intentional overdramatic moments.
The narrative is crafted in such a way that it swings from ridiculous to heartfelt in a matter of moments. Seeds are planted and then bloom in unexpected ways. And, there is more than one lovely ode to the missing piece of this massive friendship puzzle, the late actor Luke Perry.
