is released worldwide and now we finally have a taste of the new music Beyoncé helped curate for the film — outside of playing the voice of Nala.
“Spirit” is the name of the new track released late Tuesday night, coinciding with the film’s star-studded Hollywood premiere. The song, written and produced by IIya Salmanzadeh, Labrinth, and Beyoncé, is the first released song off of a newly announced soundtrack titledThough “Spirit” will be a part of the film and the official soundtrack,will be a separate release of songs and musical collaborations Beyoncé arranged to accompany the film’s release.
The release of “Spirit” and the new album announcement have fans and critics speculating that Beyoncé could finally be on her way to achieving the highest form of musical accolades possible — the EGOT — winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. Beyoncé already has her fair share of Grammy Awards — she’s the second most decorated female artist in the history of the awards show with her 23 wins — and counting. But with 2019 being the year fans and viewers experienced the cultural earthquake that was her Netflix special it seems that Beyonce could have a very prosperous awards season ahead of her.
