The bloodshed erupted on October 7, when Hamas led a surprise attack in southern Israel that killed roughly 1,200 people. The militant group also seized more than 250 hostages in the border raid, according to Reuters. In total, Israel's offensive has killed nearly 30,000 Palestinians in the territory, according to the outlet, citing Gaza's Health Ministry.
