Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson has indicated that he may leave his position when President Donald Trump completes his first term in office.
The host also questioned Carson—the only black member of Trump’s cabinet and the highest black administration official—over his thoughts on Michael Cohen’s testimony last week, in which the lawyer described the president as a “racist.” The Opportunity Zones—which arose from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act—are a new tool established by Congress to encourage long-term investments in low-income urban and rural communities nationwide.
“Who is not gonna be for finding ways to develop areas that are economically distressed that would otherwise be ignored?” It’s a win-win situation and I find it kinda fascinating that some people wanna demonize anything if a wealthy person has some benefit,” he said. “What kind of craziness is that?”
“That doesn’t happen in places where you have all this class warfare going on,” he said. “So, this is really the last place where we should be unhappy if someone is doing well. We should be doing things that allow everybody to do well.”
