Anindya Novyan Bakrie said Indonesia has a significant role in energy transition and climate change prevention along with efforts to accelerate energy transition in ASEAN
"We believe that efforts to reduce carbon emissions will not succeed without Indonesia's involvement," Anindya Bakrie said as one of the speakers at the forum 'Guitting Coal Turkey: Accelerating the Transition to Clean Energy', in Singapore on Wednesday.
"We believe that Indonesia is an ideal starting point for this transformation, but we also recognize the importance of thinking globally," he added. Indonesia is well positioned because underground there are important materials such as nickel, copper, zinc and tin. While above ground, Indonesia can process them using solar, wind, and geothermal or hydro power, according to Bakrie.
Indonesia also aims to take a proactive role in ensuring its contribution to the mainstream narrative on reducing carbon emissions, strengthening commitments to sustainable practices, and global efforts to combat climate change.
