As far as Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Richard 'Dickie' Bachmann is concerned, his agency has no ill intent towards the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) headed by president Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino.
Bachmann made this known on Tuesday, October 10, two days after Tolentino blasted the PSC for sending a letter to the POC on September 20, asking to liquidate the financial assistance given by PSC to POC for the participation of athletes in the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.Bachmann and Tolentino were not yet involved in their respective organizations now, then.
I've been trying to set a meeting with the new COA Commissioner for the past few months and I still haven't gotten an appointment on his schedule but hopefully now I can set a meeting and discuss all these unliquidated issues from 15-20 years ago, including the POC.'Bachmann once more stressed that PSC meant no harm to POC. If anything, he said, PSC is just helping POC.'The PSC does not believe COA intended it as a distraction and neither was the PSC's.
