This recipe for pecan pie is Not the original Southern Pecan Pie recipe! No self respecting Southern er would ever use molasses or any type of syrup for the filling! That' does Not make the perfect "chess".I made the mistake of trying to make this pie same day as I was planning to serve it - definitely a make ahead pie. The filling was phenomenal next day after flavors could settle and the filling could fully set.
