Ayo Edebiri has joined Amazon MGM Studios‘ upcoming thriller After the Hunt from director Luca Guadagnino. She will star alongside previously announced cast members Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield.
Details about Edebiri’s role remain close to the vest, but the official synopsis describes the upcoming film as “an intense dramatic thriller” about a college professor who finds herself in a difficult situation when a star pupil accuses one of her colleagues. As the professor deals with the sudden circumstance, “a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light.”
According to the outlet, production for After the Hunt is set to commence this summer. The film is also expected to hit theaters next year. Best known for starring as Sydney Adamu in the hit series The Bear, Edebiri has also lent her voice to Envy for the upcoming second installment of, set to hit theaters on June 14, 2024. She has also starred in several features and television shows, including The Sweet East, Bottoms, Dickinson, and Abbott Elementary.
On the other hand, Guadagnino has a stellar directing portfolio that has launched his career into the stratosphere, including I Am Love, A Bigger Splash, Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria, and Bones and All.
