MCU star Simu Liu stokes Avatar: The Last Airbender casting rumors with a new post, and a real-life connection for him makes it plausible.
Avatar: The Last Airbender casting rumors have been sparked thanks to a real-life connection between one star in the live-action TV series and Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Simu Liu. Liu is best known for his role as Shang-Chi in the MCU, appearing so far in his 2021 solo film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. His first main role was in the Canadian sitcom Kim's Convenience, a show about a Korean family running a convenience store in Toronto.
In the above post, Avatar News explains General Iroh will be played in live-action by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, who played the main role and Liu's father on Kim's Convenience. Liu's post, where he includes the words "And then the fire nation attacked," could be a possible tease at him playing Iroh's son, Lu Ten, in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender, reuniting the two actors.
