Authorities ID pedestrian struck by two vehicles, killed in Valley Center [Breaking]
The Valley Center resident died at the scene of Wednesday night’s crash, which happened about 8:35 p.m. on Lilac Road near Hideaway Lake Road, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol.
Dye was walking south across Lilac Road when the 19-year-old driver of a Nissan SUV struck him, according to the CHP. That threw him into the path of the 63-year-old driver of a Dodge minivan that had been behind the SUV.Paramedics at the scene did not provide medical care due to obvious signs of death, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office, which listed his cause of death as blunt force injuries.
The CHP said the involved drivers were not injured and asked anyone with information about the incident to call their Oceanside-area office at 643-3400.
