The Austin Gamblers team just wrapped up " Camp Austin ", a 2 day jam-packed event right here in the capitol city. Teammate, Ezekiel Mitchell say, "I think our main thing is outreach, just getting out and getting involved in the community going and supporting local businesses such as this one. And just letting Austin know that we're here that we love the city. And we also ultimately come here to prepare for our team season.
We caught up with them at B-Team Jiu Jitsu where the team learned the mount position. Mitchell says, "This training helped with bull riding because we use a lot of the same muscle groups as far as our core, your core has to be pretty strong. And then your hips been able to move them and then maneuvering around uncomfortable situations. So all in all a very similar sport and then also it's combat. So, you know, it's a fight. You don't want to ever lose that fight.
The Austin Gamblers are gearing up for their first PBR team event this weekend. They'll be back home in August forCEO of the Austin Gamblers, JJ Gotsch says "Gambler Days" is "gonna be 2.5 hours, three hours every night of nonstop action. They're gonna be the best bulls in the world, the best guys in the world. We're gonna be competing, head to head and hopefully, we can defend our home once again this year.
Gotsch says, the Gamblers are ready to bring the gold buckle back to Austin. "This 2024 season, we're very excited. We're back to back regular season champions in the PBR team series. The end of the season gold buckle has eluded us these first two years. "
