While some services reopened Monday, thousands of residents still remain unable to get clean water out of their faucets.
A boil water advisory remained in effect for much of Atlanta Monday morning as summer school programs were cancelled, after repair crews battled multiple water main bursts over the weekend.The problems started on Friday, with two major water mains breaking at the start and end of the day, leaving many locals without clean or running water.
On Sunday night, Atlanta Public Schools cancelled its summer school program, saying in a statement they would 'reconvene once the boil water advisories have been lifted'.That boil water notice covered a large area of the center of Atlanta, with residents urged to bring water to a boil for at least a minute before using it, or otherwise use bottled water.
