She was also hospitalized in 2019 when Jefferson was killed. Jefferson moved into her mother’s East Fort Worth home to care for Zion and her mother.

Former Fort Worth police Officer Aaron Dean was convicted of manslaughter for the killing of Atatiana Jefferson and is now in a Texas prison.
