Dallas-based AT&T is rolling out faster, multi-gigabit fiber internet speeds today as the company doubles down on its connectivity business.

Customers in areas where AT&T fiber is available can purchase 2-gigabit speeds for $110 per month or 5-gigabit speeds for $180 per month before taxes. The 2-gig plan for businesses starts at $225 per month and the 5-gig plan for businesses starts at $395. AT&T provides a toolPreviously, AT&T’s fiber internet plans offered a maximum of around 1-gigabit connection speeds at $80 per month.

. The Texas cities where faster connection speeds are available are Amarillo, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock and Odessa-Midland. Texas cities where AT&T’s 1-gig fiber is available but not its faster multi-gigabit speeds include Waco, Port Arthur, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Houston, El Paso and Beaumont.

AT&T’s broadband internet service is available to 40% of U.S. households and its faster fiber internet services are available to just a third of those households,
