Houston will announce Yordan Alvarez’s $115 million contract extension on Monday. Sunday’s showing makes the sum seem like a bargain.

“It’s cool to watch. I’m closer than in the dugout,” Tucker said. “But watching him just, in general, is a lot of fun. Yuli Gurriel, the man most often batting between Alvarez and Tucker, finished Sunday’s game 1-for-4. His batting average stands at .225, a stunning number for someone one season removed from the American League batting title. Gurriel has taken one more at-bat with runners on base this season than Tucker.
