Baseball is delayed at least into May, following CDC guidelines for the next eight weeks, so the 37-year-old Verlander would seemingly be good to go – as long as his other injury has cleared up. Verlander won the Cy Young Award in 2019 going 21-6 with a 2.58 ERA and 300 strikeouts but wasn't quite himself in the postseason, as the Astros lost the World Series to the Washington Nationals.
This is something to keep an eye on in the coming weeks though: With the season paused, will some players undergo minor surgeries that they otherwise might have played through?
