Workers began repairing the collapsed second floor of St. Peter Apostle Parish Church in Tungkong Mangga, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024. San Jose del Monte City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Gina Ayson said the was packed with roughly 400 visitors this morning as the Season of Lent began for the members of the Catholic faith. Part of the floor caved in, plunging parishioners to the ground floor during Ash Wednesday mass, another city disaster official, Ruben Fortun told AFP. Fortun said the floor, made of wood, “was likely overloaded.”
