As Justin Burke takes over UTSA’s play-calling, Jeff Traylor looks to Roadrunners’ future

When Traylor was hired as the head coach at UTSA in December 2019, he brought Burke and Stein aboard as offensive assistants, and the staff collectively set the foundation of the Roadrunners’ offense. Prior to the promotion, Burke was UTSA’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach following two seasons as an offensive analyst. He was also the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at USF from 2017 to 2019 after his three-year stint at Texas.
“I’m happy for him,” Barnes said. “He’s an amazing coach, an amazing person, and that’s just what comes with winning. When we all win, we all win, and we all get to eat. I’m really happy for him to get to move up the chain.”
