Around 56,000 international and domestic airline passengers coming and heading to Manila were affected due to the technical glitch at the air traffic management system of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines since Sunday morning, Jan. 1.

The passengers were on board 282 flights which were either cancelled, diverted or delayed as a result of the technical issue at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport .In a statement, the Manila International Airport Authority said the technical glitch has affected the entire country. “The Manila International Airport Authority and the Airline Operators Council are working on a recovery schedule of flights that were cancelled due to technical issues facing the air traffic management system of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines ,” the statement read.As of 4 p.m. on Sunday, cancelled international flights were flights from Cebu Pacific, Japan Airlines and AirAsia:
