“I felt like it was a great opportunity to play with Coach Stoops and Chuck Long — two guys that have a lot of experience, have been around great players and have a lot of knowledge,” Sloter said.
Before his stint with the Jaguars, he was drafted in the first round of the 2022 USFL draft by the New Orleans Breakers and was named All-USFL after finishing second in the league in passing yards and leading one of the USFL’s top offenses. The 6-2, 205-pound quarterback was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Bengals in July before being waived in August despite impressing in his first preseason game where he completed all six of his attempts, including a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kendric Pryor.
The remaining positions will be drafted Wednesday and Thursday with players expected to report to training camp on Jan. 8 ahead of the 10-game regular season, which begins Feb. 18.
