Now that they finally have a head coach, the Arizona Cardinals have to find an offensive coordinator for Kyler Murray and much, much more.

Given the $230.5 million investment the Cardinals have made in quarterback Kyler Murray, Gannon and new General Manager Monti Ossenfort must move swiftly and smartly to fill this position with a coach who can not only reach and teach Murray, but get him to respond and attack the process of being the best he can be.
“You never really know until you do the job,” Gannon told Cleveland.com during Super Bowl week in the Valley. “Experience, yes, it’s a good thing. But if you’re convinced on somebody, you roll the dice and that’s what you go with.” If he and the Cardinals instead opt to clean house entirely, they might not have their coaching staff set in time for the start of free agency, which begins with the legal tampering period on March 13. Ideally, the three coordinators and all position coaches will play a hand in assessing the talent pool along with Gannon and Ossenfort and his pro scouts.
In a perfect world, Gannon fills the time between interviewing and hiring assistants to watch as much film as he can to get up to speed on what the Cardinals have, what they don’t and what they need on the field. That includes getting his take on the future of star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who has been linked to trade rumors since the final days of the regular season.
The NFL scouting combine begins a week from Tuesday and the Cardinals will need all eyes and ears on the 319 prospects that will be making the trip to Indianapolis. Immediately after the seven-day event, Pro Days will begin popping up across the country and the Cardinals will have to be represented at nearly all of them.The Cardinals have the third overall pick in the first round of this year’s NFL draft.
