Summer officially begins later this month and the Fourth of July is right around the corner. Area communities in the Sun Sentinel coverage area have a host of events planned. Enjoy the summer and be safe. Below is a listing of holiday events in each community.
Published: Jun. 02, 2024, 4:11 p.m.The annual Bike Parade will take place at 10 a.m. July 4 at the Avon Aquatic Center, 36265 Detroit Road. Participants can decorate a bike, stroller or wagon. Guests can watch the parade on Healthway Drive as it makes its way back to Avon pool. Treats will be distributed to participants, as well as one complimentary pool admission .
The city will host a Red, White and Boom fireworks display at the conclusion of the Lake Erie Crushers baseball game July 3. The Lake Erie Crushers will also have a fireworks display on July 4 at the end of the baseball game. For more information, go toThe Independence Day Fireworks Celebration takes place from 6 to 11 p.m. July 3 at Weiss Field, 33401 Webber Road. The concerts are free and food trucks will have food available onsite for purchase.
