Fire officials said residents in three apartment units had to be relocated.

Firefighters at the scene of a fire on Springwood Avenue in Asbury Park on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021.A fire at an apartment complex in Asbury Park forced the relocation of several residents, fire officials said.

The Asbury Park Fire Department received a call at 10:54 a.m reporting a fire at the complex at 1215 Springwood Ave., officials said. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames coming out of one of the apartment units on the second floor, according to Asbury Park Fire Chief Kevin Keddy. “Victims affected by the fire, from three different apartments, are being relocated by the Red Cross and Asbury Park social services,” Keddy said at the scene of the fire.
