If you’re looking for something with more gore, violence, and dark humor, Chainsaw Man is a must-watch.Yu Yu Hakusho wouldn’t really be considered dark, but the plot revolves around the supernatural. The protagonist, Yusuke Urameshi, dies after getting hit by a car while trying to get a kid out of the way. Yusuke’s death catches the Spirit World by surprise. The son of its ruler, Koenma, gives Yusuke a series of tests to get his body back.
Yu Yu Hakusho influences some aspects of Jujutsu Kaisen. Itadori himself makes a reference to Urameshi’s infamous Spirit Gun in the first season.Noragami is another series that has supernatural elements, such as gods and demons. Hiyori Iki, a middle school student, saves a stranger from a car accident. The stranger turns out to be Yato, a minor deity who accepts requests for 5 yen each. Hiyori survives, but her soul can now leave her body.
