A collision happened at mile 131 of the Glenn Highway, between Glacier View and Eureka Lodge.

Troopers responded right after midnight to a collision report at mile 131 of the Glenn Highway, south of Glacier View and north of Eureka Lodge.

A 25-year-old Anchorage resident, Dennis Straughn III, was driving southbound on the highway toward Palmer when he struck a calf moose laying in the road, troopers’ spokesperson Tim DeSpain said.
