FAIRBANKS, Alaska - An Anchorage man was sentenced to 20 years in prison on counts of drug and firearms possession.by the DEA, Charles Rashid Malik Lee, nicknamed “Cheese,” had been under investigation by authorities for some time and was convicted by a federal jury in July 2023.
The federal agents also discovered two loaded handguns, branded baggies, and digital scales, one of which had Lee’s fingerprints on it. Lee also had about $165,000 in cash stashed around his residence and in the crawl space. “This successful prosecution shows that illegal drug distribution has no place in Alaska and will not be tolerated,” said U.S. Attorney S. Lane Tucker, she continued, “My office, in partnership with our law enforcement partners, will investigate and vigorously prosecute any perpetrator who chooses to distribute these dangerous drugs and seek justice for any damage they cause.”
