The implementation of body-worn cameras and bringing a network of public restrooms throughout Anchorage are just a couple of the things the Anchorage Assembly will be discussing Tuesday.

Members will be examining a proposed ballot measure that would put a question before the voters in the April 2024 election on whether to approve a $12.5 million bond. The bond would go toward buying, installing and maintaining roughly 30 modular public restrooms in Anchorage.

According to the proposed measure, the Assembly desires to schedule a public hearing for this bond ordinance on Nov. 7.The proposals before the Assembly will in part ask the police department to reconsider its policy regarding the release of body-worn camera footage.
