'The Tent' comes at the exact moment when so many may need it most as COVID has sent people searching for answers and, in isolation, resorting to more online resources.
For interfaith enthusiasts, the monthlong period that began Friday and continues through April 17 this year is like hitting the jackpot.
“We’ve been using technology to every advantage -- except this one,” Newhouse said. “I don’t believe we can get meaning or purpose from, or feel the divine in, a screen, but I do think the screen can get us to the people who can help.” Thirteen clergy and scholars from all over the country have been engaged to provide online talks or podcasts that can be accessed when someone joins “The Tent.” There are scheduled online streaming classes, talks and live Q&As, as well as private one-on-one sessions for those who want them. In a one-on-one, a member can ask a question, discuss a text or ritual, or seek solace.
