as a staff photographer in October 2007. Clendenin has focused his attention in Los Angeles on portraiture, working mostly with the Calendar section covering Hollywood. A graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in journalism, Clendenin started his first newspaper job at the Hartford Courant in Connecticut. He spent nine years on the East Coast documenting politics, taking portraits, and chasing human-interest stories, primarily for the news magazines TIME, Newsweek and U.S.
Carolyn Cole has covered national and international news for The Los Angeles Times for many years. Her work on the civil crisis in Liberia won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography. Cole is a two-time winner of the Robert Capa Gold Medal from the Overseas Press Club of America and has also earned four World Press Photography awards. Previously based in New York, Carolyn recently moved back to California where she is focusing more on environmental issues.
