Amazon is working on a new movie that bears some resemblance to Netflix's Squid Game series, and the similarities could improve the movie’s success.
Amazon's upcoming action-comedy film Grand Death Lotto imagines what a Squid Game style battle royale would look like set in America. Grand Death Lotto will aim to evoke the same successes brought to Squid Game that came in the overwhelming response to the series' enthusiastic brutality and robust social commentary. Squid Game is famed for following the survival of a group of contestants who risk their lives to win the jackpot succeeding in a sequence of deadly children's games.
Grand Theft Lotto Could Be Amazon's Squid Game Amazon has only just begun production on Grand Death Lotto — a recently released set photo revealed the film will feature admired performers in lead roles such as Awkwafina as Katie and fan-favorite John Cena as Noel.
