Amazon's West Deptford Center Delivers Meals to Frontline Healthcare Workers at Washington Township Hospital.Some New Jersey health care workers got a big – and delicious – ‘thank you’ on Friday, courtesy of their hospital, a nearby restaurant, and Amazon.
To thank frontline employees for their work during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, West Deptford Amazon workers Friday afternoon loaded 800 free meals into their vans and delivered them to Jefferson Washington Township Hospital. “Our frontline healthcare workers – doctors, nurses, aides, support staff, and more – are heroes,” Roberto Miller, Director of Operations at Amazon’s Fulfillment Center in West Deptford, said in a statement. “Our team at Amazon is grateful for everything our frontline health care workers have been through over the past two years, and we are honored to have the opportunity to show a small token of our gratitude.
The meals, which were prepared by Stratford restaurant Philadelphia Provisions, were a welcome recognition at the hospital. “All of our teams, both in our hospitals and our ambulatory locations, have worked tremendously hard since the start of the pandemic – and especially during the recent omicron surge,” said Brian Sweeney, Jefferson Health President. “So it is very gratifying to see them rewarded as heroes by Amazon.”
