"While I will be the Democratic nominee, I want every Texan to know whether you're a Democrat, an Independent, a Republican... I want you to be involved in this campaign and I want to serve you in the United States Senate," Allred said, turning his focus to November. "The stakes really couldn't be any higher in this election. Our freedoms are under attack. We have a crisis at the border we need to respond to," he said.
At a watch party in San Antonio, Gutierrez conceded the race telling supporters there was a lot of work to be done in the state. "I stopped crying about elections a long time ago. You won't see me cry over that spilled milk. We have a fight yet to go in this state and we're going to make sure we do that, but I cry every day over their children.
