For Tompkins, it was all new. The Falcons certainly had the capacity for getting the job done with a loaded roster and plenty of momentum. But they needed to execute at a high level to keep their historic season alive.The senior outside hitter and Rice signee led her team to an intense, three-set victory, collecting 21 kills with a .442 hitting percentage along the way.
“She was just unstoppable,” Merrell said. “She just carried us in that match. Not that we don’t depend on her heavily every match, but that one, she just owned it. It was just so great to see her thrive in that element.” For her efforts in leading the Falcons to new heights, Tchouangwa is the All-Greater Houston Volleyball Player of the Year.
