The heat and humidity are the weather headlines as we progress into the workweek ahead. Storm chances also creep back up. T.J. Springer has the timeline and when we get some relief.
The heat and humidity continue to ramp up through early next week thanks to some upper ridging in the atmosphere. Highs climb back into the mid-90s Monday and upper 90s on Tuesday. This is when heat indices could rise beyond 105° which is when an Excessive Heat Warnings goes into effect. That is why an ALERT DAY has been designated by the Storm Team. The big concerns are the heat next week but we could also see a few storms.
This is the same case on Tuesday as yet another wave moves in. Between these two disturbances, we're not expecting washouts but a few storms are possible so keep your eyes to the sky. The cold front finally brings some relief from the oppressive feels with temperatures falling back into 80s by Thursday. Highs look to stay seasonable along with a less humid feel holding for the end of next week.
