That led to a dozen school districts formalizing their virtual learning program as a full-time standalone school.
No public data exists showing how many school districts are still offering virtual school for kindergarten through eighth grade, though it’s clear some are no longer doing so. State law requires all districts to offer a fully virtual option for students in ninth through 12th grade.
