MANILA, Philippines — A party-list group has ensured access to water for residents affected by Mayon Volcano’s continued unrest, as the group already started installing supply systems in evacuation centers.

According to Phivolcs, Mayon remains under Alert Level 3 due to “potential explosive activity within days or weeks” and continues to display “intensified unrest or magmatic unrest,” affecting 38,989 individuals or 10,112 families residing in 26 barangays within the Bicol Region as of June 22.To aid these locals, the Ako Bicol party-list extended its support by securing their access to clean water.

“Through the installation of water supply systems in evacuation centers, we aim to ensure that the basic needs of the evacuees, such as access to clean water, are met. We will continue to work tirelessly to ease their burdens during this challenging time,” Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co said in a statement.
