Ana Marie Aguilar's decisive frontside charge propelled her to victory in the 8-9 category of the ICTSI JPGT Visayas Series 3 Tuesday, earning her a place in the Philippine Junior Match Play Championship in October.
Tobias Tiongko, Ana Marie Aguilar and Race Manhit hold their Philippine Junior Match Play Championship certificates after the conclusion of the three-leg ICTSI JPGT Visayas Series at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Bacolod. WIth them are NOGCC general manager Joan Reyes and ICTSI's Ronnel Javier.
Tiongko, who also placed third in Bacolod, amassed 25 points and joined division topnotcher Kvan Alburo, who dominated the first two legs worth 30 points. Maurysse Abalos clinched the girls’ 10-12 class with a dramatic last-hole birdie, finishing with an 80 to top Kelsey Bernardino by two strokes. Bernardino, who tied with Abalos heading to the par-5 18th, bogeyed from eight feet, ending with an 82 for a 168 total. Chelsea Ogborne finished third with a 212 total.
Simon Wahing leads the boys' 16-18 division with a 77 for a 151, followed by Bryce Lacida at 155 and John Rey Oro at 161.
