Republicans who lead those states insist the goal is to reduce the risk of fraud in elections and ensure voting is secure and accessible., and these laws create more obstacles to vote and discriminate against voters of color.
“New Jersey can be fairer, and we can be better,” state Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson, D-Mercer, a sponsor, said at the rally.Spokespeople for Murphy and Scutari did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
