Dothan City Schools names April Employee of the Month.
Dothan City Schools honored Adra Franklin of Kelly Springs Elementary School as the April Employee of the Month at Dothan City Board of Education ’s April meeting.
“Mrs. Franklin is one of the first people that parents and students see when entering the school. She greets everyone with a warm smile and sometimes even hugs,” said Montalvo. She is usually in the hallways getting involved in the work of the school. From covering classes when needed to co-sponsors a few clubs, she helps anyone in need. Many of the young ladies at the school view her as a mentor, and they come to the office when they need words of encouragement or just a shoulder to cry on.
Franklin is a co-sponsor of the Peer Helpers and the Student Government Association, and sponsors The Rising Eagle Club, which caters to students who are struggling with challenging behaviors. Franklin teaches them alternative behaviors and strategies for dealing with their feelings and emotions. Franklin also helps with the school Programs Committee. She helps to plan, coordinate, and put on every program at the school.
