Vajdos took third place in the event with the vault.AUSTIN – A year after a disappointing performance at the UIL state track and field championships, Brandeis senior Rafe Clendenin secured a gold medal in his final high school competition.
The event started nearly two hours after it was schedule because of a weather delay from earlier in the day. “I’m a little bit disappointed because I was throwing 195 and I think I hit 200 in the warm ups, but, shoot, gold is gold,” Clendenin said.Three won silver, including Brennan sophomore Caila Lyons in the 6A girls 800-meter run, Reagan junior Isabella Dagrosa in the 6A girls 300 hurdles and Reagan junior Samuel Abati in the 6A boys pole vault. New Braunfels senior Ella Vajdos was third in the 6A girls pole vault.
